Robinson Lighting is the source for ceiling fans. Knowledgable staff and exceptional selection of quality ceiling fans. No one in Kelowna, Winnipeg or the Okanagan Valley comes close. Larger than most chandeliers, an attractively styled and well made fan becomes a prominent furnishing in both public and private spaces in the home. Ceiling fans can be used in many rooms in the home, as well porches and verandas. Unlike lighting fixtures, ceiling fans contain moving parts - the motor and the blades it turns. The larger the motor, the stronger it is. Good fan motors have over 2000 feet of copper wire in the windings. The blades may be formed of wood, steel or plastic. To avoid warping , wooden blades should be laminated from thin slices of wood rather than constructed from a single solid piece. Each set of blades should be properly balanced to a very high tolerance so the fan turns evenly. Blades are pitched or angled rather than perfectly horizontal. This enables the blade to push more air. Pitches vary from 9 -22 degrees. The higher the pitch the more air will be pushed.
